5 Valentine’s Day Recipes and Crafts from Pinterest

I LOVE Pinterest! It’s pure genius! If you aren’t familiar with Pinterest it’s basically a virtual bulletin board where you “pin” images with links back to where you found them.

Lately I’ve been pinning a lot of Valentine’s Day craft and food ideas. You can see all of my Valentine’s pins on my “Be My Valentine” board, but I thought I would share 5 of my favorites Valentine’s Day recipes and craft ideas.

1. Rice Krispie Heart Pops

At Korean American Mommy. She has a great step-by-step tutorial for 2 different kinds of Crisp Rice Heart Pops.

2. Heart-shaped Pancakes Recipe

At Your Commissary Insider.

3. Heart-shaped Cinnamon Rolls Tutorial.

At Poppies at Play. She has a tutorial showing you how to roll and cut the dough into a heart shape.

4. Homemade Valentine Play Dough Recipe.

At NurtureStore. A printable homemade play dough recipe with lots of ideas for playing with the dough.

5. Pipe Cleaner Heart-shaped Glasses.

At Make and Takes. Great tutorial for making these fun heart shaped glasses. I had to laugh when not all of her children were enthusiastic models.

What fun Valentine’s Day activities are you doing this week?

  1. Cute ideas! I have some cinnamon rolls from a great sale and think I might make these! Thanks!

The kids are making hearts out of candy canes (we got them 90% off after Christmas, some are primary colors and the others are girly colors) and attaching a tag for their Valentine’s this year.

For now, I’m staying away from Pinterest. I think I would get sucked in! :)

    • Amy, the candy cane valentines sound really cute!

I keep thinking you would LOVE Pinterest! I think most people get sucked in the first week because it’s new and fun. I like using it to bookmark the blogs I read and want to go back to a specific post. Before I would think, “Oh! I should do that!” and then I would lose or forget the link. Now it’s all right there waiting for me.

Stephanie, I followed you to Pinterest about a week ago and…OH! MY! I am not sure if I am linking or pinning or whatever correctly, but seriously, a little browsing has already given me multiple ideas to implement and I’m LOVING my new recipes!! I have Herb Grilled Skirt Steak marinating in the fridge for fajitas tonight!! (I found a website through Pinterest called “Plain Chicken” and the recipes are perfect for us!! …and the Valentine ideas!!! We have some fun, easy snack ideas that we’re sending to my nieces and nephews who are in college…Valentine’s care packages. I do think I am so busy with all the great ideas I found so quickly that it might be a little while before I can venture back on the site! If you notice me pinning wrong or anything, let me know!! I found the “following” part a bit unclear at one point. I thought I was already following you at one point….then I had another option so I clicked it again….and I think I kept getting the option. Confused about that. You may be being “overfollowed” by me. :)
